On the racing line around the clock

The final 24-hour race ended with a real bang for BILSTEIN: With a lead of only 5.697 seconds, long-term partner Black Falcon, which made its official competition debut for AMG, secured first place.

Besides the four talented drivers Bernd Schneider, Maro Engel, Adam Christodoulou and Manuel Metzger, the new 4-way MDS from BILSTEIN contributed to the factors of success for the AMG GT3.

But this was not the only test for the modular damper system, still completely new in this version in 2016, which had been used successfully in several manufacturers’ competition teams. C.Abt Racing used corresponding suspension components in a Continental GT3 for Bentley.

The final line-up for the 45th ADAC Zurich 24h Race at the Nürburgring from 25 to 28 May 2017 is not fully confirmed yet. However, with Black Falcon and the team’s own AMG GT3, the same can be expected for 2017, and the popular blue-yellow racer in the BILSTEIN colours will once again be at the starting line. Stepping up to the Olympus of the car manufacturers’ competition teams supported by BILSTEIN is Land-Motorsport.

After Land made a brilliant comeback in the VLN in 2016 and finished the season as the best team, it now has the official team support of Audi and the R8 LMS in the 24-hour race.

But even in the private teams there is much to expect in the BILSTEIN cosmos in 2017. The variety of models is particularly exciting for the spectators: For example, the Ferrari 488 GT3 and Lamborghini Huracán GT3 will ensure those Italian moments in the race. In total, about 40 vehicles could be at the starting line with suspension technology from BILSTEIN in 2017.

The numerous brand trophy vehicles from the Opel Astra OPC and the TMG GT86 Cup are already set. Adjustable mono-tube gas-pressure shock absorbers with Upside-Down technology come as standard for both the rebound and bump in parallel.

The fireballs from the TCR ranks are also recording strong growth. The suspension company from German Ennepetal is well represented here, particularly as a result of the constantly growing range of models from the Volkswagen Group, in which BILSTEIN components are installed ex works. These are currently the VW Golf, Seat Leon and Audi RS3.

The blue-yellow team colours worn by the BILSTEIN experts will also be on the track for numerous other teams of all classes equipped with their dampers. In racing, it is not only the hardware, but also what you can take from the right setup which decides the outcome.
