Falken Tyre Europe GmbH is the European subsidiary of Japanese tyre manufacturer Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd., the world’s sixth largest tyre manufacturer with around 33,000 employees.

From its location in Offenbach/Main, the company markets and sells a complete tyre portfolio for passenger cars, light trucks, trucks, pick-ups and SUVs as original equipment and for the entire European retrofitting market. All Falken products comply with the ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949 and ISO14001.

Developed and tested in the world’s most demanding racing series, the VLN Endurance Championship, Falken tyres provide maximum driving enjoyment, which has reached high acclaim in the media. Falken’s bestselling tyre, the FALKEN AZENIS FK510, has been rated “Exemplary” and awarded a top-three place in 2017 summer tyre test conducted by German motoring magazine Auto Bild.

In addition, the testers of Auto Bild sport tyre test 2017 are convinced by “stable cornering, neutral handling on dry road surfaces, short wet and dry braking distance and good aquaplaning resistance” of AZENIS FK510 and awarded the tyre an overall of “Good”. Meanwhile auto motor sport magazine ranked it amongst the best tyres for upper midsize call vehicles, giving an overall rating of “Recommended” in their summer tyre test 2017.

Falken has been a major player in the Nürburgring 24 Hour race since the end of the 1990s and has fielded a Porsche 911 GT3 R (Type 997) since 2011, followed by a Porsche 911 GT3R (Type 991) in 2016, and starting this season with a second race car from premium German manufacturer BMW.

The new BMW M6 GT3 will be in the hands of two Falken racers, Peter Dumbreck and Alexandre Imperatori. The team will be supported by Marco Seefried and Stef Dusseldorp on the BMW factory side. Battling it out for the top place at the wheel of the Porsche will be Falken driver Martin Ragginger plus Porsche works drivers Jörg Bergmeister, Dirk Werner and Laurens Vanthoor.

With the team competing in two different but current GT3 marques it is an unusual situation but illustrates Falken’s depth of experience and the wide-ranging performance of the tyres. Falken’s long-term partner, Schnabl Engineering, will supervise and support the two vehicles throughout the season.

As well as being a main sponsor, Falken Tyre Europe GmbH extends its Nürburgring trackside activities during the 24-hour race to offer fun and action to the numerous fans for excitement both on and around the racetrack.
