The BMW M3 Touring 24H is already one of the standout attractions in the paddock. What began as an April Fool’s joke has long since grown into a genuine success story: at the 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers in mid-April, the spectacular Touring dominated the SPX class and delivered an impressive demonstration of its ability to compete with GT3 cars on equal terms.
During its appearances in the Nürburgring-Langstrecken-Serie, the BMW M3 Touring 24H attracted attention not only for its performance, but also for its visual impact. Its qualifying livery featured numerous genuine social media comments originally posted beneath the April Fool’s announcement of the car – a deliberately self-deprecating touch that playfully referenced the project’s unusual beginnings.

For the 24h Nürburgring, however, BMW M Motorsport has unveiled an entirely new design. The final race livery was revealed in a video in which the Touring appears to cast off its earlier qualifying wrap, exposing the finished look beneath. The new design makes bold use of black surfaces across the centre of the car, while the signature colours of BMW M GmbH – complemented by white – create striking accents, particularly towards the rear. Combined with the prominent Shell colours at the back, the result is an especially eye-catching contrast.
Another striking feature is found at the front: the surrounds of the BMW kidney grille, along with the daytime running lights, glow yellow. This is not just a visual flourish, but also a practical measure: during the night hours on the Nordschleife, the Touring is intended to be identified much easier for fans, teams and marshals.

The unconventional estate car has already impressed on track as well. At the 24h Qualifiers, Jens Klingmann and Neil Verhagen secured a strong seventh place overall against the established GT3 field. In the current race, Connor De Phillippi, Ugo de Wilde, Jens Klingmann and Neil Verhagen share the cockpit of the BMW M3 Touring 24H.
“We are very well prepared with our BMW M3 Touring 24H,” says Jens Klingmann. “In the lead-up to the race, we had no technical issues at all and showed strong pace. We are delighted to be among the fans’ favourites this weekend, but we also have the sporting ambition to achieve the best result possible.” For BMW M Motorsport, however, the focus is not solely on the result, but above all on reliability: the spectacular Touring is intended to go the full distance and deliver top-class entertainment for fans on the Nordschleife over 24 hours.
