There has been little change at the front overnight. The Verstappen Mercedes-AMG #3 continues to lead ahead of the Ravenol Mercedes-AMG #80. The sister cars are giving each other no quarter, although several minor contacts have had no consequences. Close behind are the Walkenhorst Aston Martin #34 and the BMW Touring #81. Numerous accidents and off-track excursions during the night have left the circuit dirty, adding to the challenge of the Nordschleife.

#3 Verstappen / Auer / Gounon / Juncadella (Mercedes-AMG GT3)
00:14 – The leaders make another simultaneous pit stop. Daniel Juncadella remains in the Verstappen Mercedes-AMG GT3.
01:19 – There is a battle for the lead on the Döttinger Höhe, but Daniel Juncadella cannot find a way past #80 Engel / Stolz / Schiller / Martin (Mercedes-AMG GT3).
01:30 – Max Verstappen takes over the car from teammate Daniel Juncadella during the pit stop.
01:45 – Daniel Juncadella: “I enjoyed the stint, the car felt very good, even better than in the second hour, I would say. Everything is running smoothly for us. Traffic is of course an issue – sometimes you can drive fluently, sometimes you have to hit the brakes. That’s part of the game. But we’re leading together with the sister car, and I think it will be a 13-hour fight. Now I can relax and sleep well; tomorrow I’ll be back in the car.”
01:46 – Max Verstappen has closed the gap to sister car #80 Engel / Stolz / Schiller / Martin (Mercedes-AMG GT3) and is now locked in a direct fight for the lead with the RAVENOL entry.
02:17 – #3 moves into the lead.
02:50 – The leader has closed in on the fifth-placed #81 Klingmann / de Wilde / de Phillippi / Verhagen (BMW M3 Touring 24h), putting the BMW at risk of going a lap down. He does not quite manage it, and Verstappen heads into the pits for a routine stop at the end of the lap.
04:04 – Max Verstappen hands over the leading Mercedes-AMG to Jules Gounon during the pit stop.
05:14 – Jules Gounon comes in for a routine pit stop but remains in the Mercedes-AMG GT3. The Frenchman stays in front of #80 Engel / Stolz / Schiller / Martin (Mercedes-AMG GT3).
06:27 – The Verstappen Mercedes-AMG and #80 Engel / Stolz / Schiller / Martin (Mercedes-AMG GT3) are once again in the pits at the same time. Auer takes over from Gounon and stays in the lead.
07:37 – #80 Engel / Stolz / Schiller / Martin (Mercedes-AMG GT3) are still flying in formation. Even at the next pit stop, the two Mercedes-AMGs are parked neatly side by side. The GT3 with #3 and Lucas Auer at the wheel remains in front.
#4 Goroyan / Kivtka / Berthon / Fontana (Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) Evo26)
04:54 – Disrespected a double-yellow section and receives 2 DMSB points and an 84-second time penalty.
06:51 – The 911 has to serve a hefty 86-second time penalty and also picks up 2 DMSB points for ignoring Code 60.
#5 Kaya / Kiefer / Piana / Stursberg (Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) Evo26)
00:57 – The Black Falcon Porsche receives a 50-second time penalty for a Code 60 infringement.

#7 Stalidzane / Paul / Engelhart / Lefterov (Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2)
02:19 – After an impact on the left at marshal post 65 (Hatzenbach), it is standing on the right-hand side of the track.
02:23 – The Lambo is facing the wrong way, and Pavel Lefterov is trying to turn the Konrad Lambo around.
02:32 – The Lamborghini is able to continue after the spin-induced stoppage.
02:40 – The Lamborghini comes to a halt in the Ex-Mühle section.
02:43 – Franz Konrad: “Unfortunately, I can’t say much about the accident. Pavel can unfortunately not continue. He delivered great stints and fortunately he is uninjured. Sadly, we’ve often had bad luck here in recent years, but we’ll be back next year.”
#10 Wasel / Lenz / Kruse / Dralle (VW Golf GTI Clubsport 24h)
02:38 – Receives a 45-second penalty for a Code 60 infringement.
#11 Heyer / Fittje / Härtling / Ellis (Mercedes-AMG GT3)
02:40 – Philip Ellis brought the car into the pits after his stint.
#13 Albrecht / Ecke / Sczepansky / Jäger (Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992))
01:56 – Pit stop for the Fly-for-Help Porsche.
04:55 – Impact in the Hohenrain chicane area. NLS managing director Mike Jäger is, however, able to continue.
#17 Andlauer / Boccolacci / Menzel / Picariello (Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) Evo26)
01:10 – Picariello crashed heavily in the Bergwerk area after there was apparently an accident with #13 Albrecht / Ecke / Sczepansky / Jäger (Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992)), which can, however, continue slowly back toward the pits.
01:13 – The driver is okay and is able to get out of the stricken car under his own power.
02:36 – Alessio Picariello explains how the accident happened: “Traffic on the Nordschleife is always a risk. It was the same here: I wanted to overtake a competitor and had already flashed him several times. He was driving in the middle and seemed to move to the correct side to let me pass – but there was slight contact between us, I got onto the grass and then completely lost the car. A pity for the team – the car was running so well at that moment.”
#18 Tilley / Hill / Patrick / Hofer (Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) Evo26)
01:25 – Pit stop with driver change.
01:38 – Jack Hill, the former BTCC champion, is impressed after his stint: “Driving here in the Green Hell is no walk in the park. It’s difficult, but like a moment of revelation. And especially at night, the atmosphere is incredible with all the fans around, the campfires and the lights. At the same time, it is dangerous and difficult to drive through the night.”
07:54 – Kyle Tilley: “I love it. This place is so special, especially when you’re driving into the sunrise. It gives you a second wind. It’s my first 24h race, and everyone told me you can smell what the fans are cooking. I always said that couldn’t be true. But yes, you really can smell it when they’re frying bacon. I’ve never done a 24h race before; it’s an experience.”

#24 Heinrich / Vanthoor / Feller (Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) Evo26)
04:28 – Laurens Vanthoor forces his way past leader Gounon on the run towards Schwedenkreuz, putting himself back on the lead lap.
04:47 – The 911 comes in for routine service: refuelling, fresh tyres, and back out again.
#26 Christodoulou / Lulham / Grenier / Böckmann (Mercedes-AMG GT3)
00:52 – Adam Christodoulou: “I have just finished my second double stint; in the first one I had the pleasure of driving the start of the race. This time it was especially hot. The conditions out there are crazy. We’re talking about four different seasons within one race, within the week. The track conditions keep changing. It’s a bit like a lottery.”
03:49 – Mikaël Grenier: “The stint was okay. There were lots of Code 60s, lots of accidents on the track, lots of oil. It wasn’t easy just to survive. But I think we did well. We’re struggling a bit with tyre temperatures being too low; that’s currently our biggest weakness. But we’re running in the top 10 and that’s the goal. So far the car has no damage.”
07:47 – Christopher Lulham: “It was nice to drive into the sunrise, when it gets brighter and you can finally see something again. I can’t say how it went for us because I haven’t looked at the times yet. We’re struggling with understeer. Out there it’s much quieter now than it was at the start of the race. I think a lot of cars have stopped or crashed.”
#30 Kim / Bruins / Cho / Seefried (Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) Evo26)
07:52 – #30 comes in for a pit stop.
#32 Nakayama / Gülden / Sandtler (Mercedes-AMG GT3)
02:18 – The Toyo AMG overtook under yellow and receives a 32-second time penalty.
#34 Krognes / Drudi / Thiim / Fernadez Laser (Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 EVO)
02:22 – Christian Krognes: “We have to shorten some stints because we have a problem with fuel consumption – sometimes it lasts for 7 laps, sometimes for 8. Many factors play a role. I’m allowed to go to bed now and will get back in the car in about four hours.”
#37 Dumarey / Wahl / Lönnroth / Konnerth (Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3)
03:16 – #37 comes in for a pit stop.
07:00 – Markus Lönnroth: “It was very good out there. But when the fast cars come, I simply move aside and let them through. After that I try to hang on to them.”
07:19 – Heavy accident on the Döttinger Höhe: Guido Dumarey veers off at right angles at top speed with tyre damage. The driver has gotten out, but a large amount of carbon debris from the heavily damaged Aston Martin is scattered across the track.

#39 Walkenhorst / Buchardt / Hantke / Jansen (Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 EVO)
02:18 – The Zetti overtook under yellow and receives a 32-second time penalty.
02:31 – The Walkenhorst Aston Martin drove too fast through a Code 60 zone and receives a 32-second time penalty.
#55 Beretta / Ghiretti / Sturm / Hartog (Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) Evo26)
00:26 – Pit stop.
03:11 – Pit stop.
#59 Schädler / Weishar / Naumann / Dörr (McLaren Artura Trophy Evo)
06:29 – Collides with #448 Weber / Knötschke / Müller / Krey (Porsche Cayman S*) in the Xiaomi turn. The McLaren loses a large amount of coolant on the GP track as it limps back to the pits.
06:35 – Guido Naumann: “I had a collision with a Porsche, even though I had actually left him space. Maybe he had a technical problem. One wheel is crooked and the radiator has also taken a hit. That will mean at least a longer repair.”
#61 Adelson / Arnold / Green / Van der Zande (HWA EVO.R)
02:01 – Is currently the only HWA car still in the race. The team is currently repairing two major issues on the two sister cars: a water pump and a steering rack. Hopefully sponsor Parkside’s tools will hold up.
#62 Adelson / Asch / Ludwig / Winkelhock (HWA EVO.R)
06:18 – Sebastian Asch explains the roughly three-hour stop in the pits: “We had to replace the water pump; on the sister car there were suspension problems. The important thing, though, is that all the HWAs are rolling again.”
06:41 – Markus Winkelhock: “A double stint had actually been planned, but at my age my bladder was starting to complain a bit. So I asked whether we could turn the double stint into a single stint. It was really awesome, great fun driving into the rising sun. I hope the weather stays as it is now. That it stays dry. I’ve been doing the 24h Nürburgring here every year since 2010 and it is definitely the highlight of the season for me every single year. This year it’s the first time not in the Audi A8, not in a GT3. But I have to say honestly, the HWA Evo R is tremendous fun. For me it’s new, the traffic coming from behind, the GT3s – when they come, I had to get used to that a bit at first. But actually it works relatively well, I have to say.”

#63 Gebhardt / Holstad / Ludwig / Spengler (HWA EVO.R)
06:54 – HWA’s Martin Marx: “On the Kärcher car, number 62, the water pump failed, and on number 63 we had steering damage. That means we were set back for a long time during the night by two different technical problems. At the same time, we’re very happy that the #61 has been turning laps since the start. Unfortunately, the repair break took a bit longer. Because we also use many production parts from our HWA road-going Evo, replacing the water pump simply took several hours. But that makes me all the prouder of the team. From the very beginning we decided that no matter what happens, we won’t park the cars; we’ll repair whatever needs repairing so that we can still achieve our goal. We want to cross the finish line here with all three cars.”
#65 Haupt / Kolb / Schumacher / Caresani (Ford Mustang GT3 EVO (2026))
00:57 – The HRT Mustang is stopped on the right-hand side next to the track in the Mutkurve area.
#66 Born / Hoffmeister / Marchewicz / Hörr (KTM X-Bow GTX)
00:17 – The Reiter KTM has to retire from the race early due to technical problems.
#67 Olsen / Mies / Vervisch / Stippler (Ford Mustang GT3 EVO (2026))
02:17 – Dennis Olsen is able to take eighth place from Bastian Buus at the end of the Döttinger Höhe.
04:24 – Just slightly misses the apex in the Hohenrain chicane area. Afterwards, the Mustang runs slightly wide and brushes the tyre stack on the left-hand side.
06:07 – The Mustang is circulating slowly on the Nordschleife. A puncture is causing the handicap, but Frédéric Vervisch is trying to nurse the car back to the pits.
06:20 – Frédéric Vervisch after his stint: “We lost a lot of time because of the puncture. The cause was a small off-track moment because I had slid slightly off the circuit due to an oil spill and probably damaged the tyre there. Fortunately it wasn’t worse, so we can continue.”
#69 Glock / Scheider / Dörr / Kirchhöfer (McLaren 720S-GT3)
03:13 – Timo Glock has received a penalty for the second time. Since it is linked to two penalty points in the DMSB register, the immediate loss of his Nordschleife permit is the consequence, leading to disqualification from the race.
03:14 – The penalty against Glock was issued for a Code 60 infringement.
#71 Blank / Kaffer / Großmann / Jöns (Audi R8 LMS GT3 evo II)
02:10 – Pit stop.

02:16 – Is on the hook of the DMSB recovery unit and is being towed away.
#77 Wittmann / Eng / Weerts / Frijns (BMW M4 GT3 EVO)
02:24 – The Schubert BMW drove too fast through a Code 60 zone and receives a 90-second time penalty.

#80 Engel / Stolz / Schiller / Martin (Mercedes-AMG GT3)
00:15 – During the pit stop, Maro Engel takes over the car from Luca Stolz.
00:23 – Luca Stolz: “I had a good start to the stint. Between us and the guys in the other car, it keeps going back and forth between P1 and P2 at the moment. For us it’s a good and enjoyable fight. Now it’s about getting through the night well. We’ll probably look at the radar and follow the weather. I think we’ve found a good rhythm. Maro is in the car now.”
01:31 – No driver change during the double pit stop alongside sister car #3 Verstappen / Auer / Gounon / Juncadella (Mercedes-AMG GT3); Maro Engel stays in the car for a double stint.
02:17 – In the duel for the lead with #3, Maro Engel has to take to the grass in the Hohenrain chicane. Before that, he and Max Verstappen had made contact in the Tiergarten dip.
02:51 – At the pit stop – again at the same time as teammates #3 Verstappen / Auer / Gounon / Juncadella (Mercedes-AMG GT3) – Maxime Martin takes over the wheel from Maro Engel.
03:07 – Maro Engel: “I had a good double stint. Our cars are going well, and I had a lot of fun with Max. Of course, the Nordschleife is special, a cool place. And driving through the night there together with Max really made me happy. I hope we entertained the fans a little – those who were still awake definitely did the right thing. Now I’m going to get some sleep and my teammates will take over.”
04:05 – During the parallel pit stop with #3 Verstappen / Auer / Gounon / Juncadella (Mercedes-AMG GT3), double-stint driver Maxime Martin stayed in the car.
07:41 – Fabian Schiller: “Everything is going according to plan, we have two Mercedes at the front. In most cases you only look at yourself, but of course that’s cool. We decided early on not to get involved in position battles. We’ve frozen it a bit now so that we don’t fight each other. The goal for Mercedes is to win here again after ten years.”
#81 Klingmann / de Wilde / de Phillippi / Verhagen (BMW M3 Touring 24h)
00:31 – Thorsten Schubert: “It is fantastic how the car is working. Strangely enough, it’s currently even running a bit better than our GT3 because it has a little more downforce. That means we can get the tyres working better – even the soft tyre is struggling to get into the right operating window at this temperature. For us it is a great honour to look after such a one-off project. The #77 is also still well in the race; with the switch from rain tyres to slicks we waited a bit too long there, and that cost us time.”
01:14 – Update: While lapping, Neil Verhagen had to take to the grass in the Hohenrain chicane area last lap to avoid a competitor, but he is able to continue the race without damage.
03:41 – Had been running in P3 for some time but loses the position to brand colleagues #99 through the pit stop now taken.
#84 Engstler / Bortolotti / Niederhauser (Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2)
04:43 – The 2024 DTM champion, Mirko Bortolotti, is currently the fastest driver in the leading group and is consistently making up time on the cars ahead of him.

00:17 – Is standing in the gravel trap at the Goodyear hairpin.

06:45 – Harry King: “The conditions are great out there. Sunrise was a bit of a nuisance because of the glare. Now I’m taking a short break and preparing for my next stint.”
#88 Van Dam / Sasaki / Iguchi / Kubo (Subaru WRX)
05:57 – The Subaru receives a 60-second time penalty for exceeding the maximum speed in a Code 60 zone.

02:45 – #99 regains third place.
02:56 – Routine pit stop for the remaining Rowe BMW.
03:04 – Sheldon van der Linde has just finished his stint: “It was very exhausting – one of the toughest stints I have ever driven on the Nordschleife. There was a lot of oil on the track; it is difficult to keep the car on line. I lacked a tiny bit of pace, the two Mercedes are very strong. I’m glad that we are holding P4. We will definitely give it everything. Our strength is not on the straight; instead, we are good in traffic and in high-speed corners. But at the moment we are far too far away from the front to really be able to do anything.”
#100 Fischer / Frisse / Gruber / Hausmeier (BMW 325i*)
05:35 – The leading BMW from Eifelkind Racing receives a 59-second time penalty for exceeding the maximum speed under Code 60.

#171 Walker / Ullström / Hagnauer / Klasen (Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS CS)
07:23 – Eric Ullström: “It went well. But it wasn’t easy either, because many cars had lost oil. So you have to be careful. You can feel that you’ve been awake for a long time. You’re not as attentive as you used to be.”
#180 Holt / Ogburn / Stripling / Turner (BMW M4 GT4 EVO (G82))
