The initial key details for participants in the new 24h Nürburgring Series have been finalized: With affordable entry fees and an entry fee structure tailored to the financial capabilities of different teams, ADAC Nordrhein, as the organizer, is making it clear that professional teams, ambitious amateurs, and amateur athletes are equally welcome. With the Polo Cup, a true entry-level series has even already confirmed its participation for the 2027 season. “Of course, the top teams with their GT3s are often the focus of media coverage and TV broadcasts—that’s no secret,” explains Walter Hornung, sports director of ADAC Nordrhein. “But endurance racing—especially on the Nordschleife—thrives on the battles within the classes. That’s why GT4 cars, Cup cars, and production cars have been an integral part of our series for decades—and that will, of course, remain the case in the new 24h Nürburgring Series as well.”
Graded entry fees support amateur racing teams
Registration for teams and drivers will open on September 1, 2026. In the inaugural year, the fees are graded: Through October 31, 2026, drivers pay 200 euros, and teams pay 800 euros per vehicle. Through January 31, 2027, the entry fees will be 400 and 1,250 euros, respectively, and from the beginning of February, they will be 600 and 1,500 euros, respectively. The registration deadline for teams is March 19, 2027. Guest starters are generally permitted but, as in other series, pay higher entry fees. There are three entry fee categories for each individual event. For example, the entry fee for the 24h Prolog, the ADAC Eifel Race, and the ADAC 1.000km Race is 5,800 euros for the top classes (SP9, SP-X, SP11, and SP-PRO), 2,700 euros for the larger SP classes (SP10, SP8T, SP8, SP7, and SP6) and the higher-performance Cup classes (Cup2 and Cup3) at 2,700 euros, and at 1,800 euros for all other classes—such as the BMW Cups, the new Polo Cup, and production cars. The 6-hour race held as part of the ADAC 1.000km race has the same financial terms as the 4-hour races. Ideal Entry-Level Class: the Polo Cup
With the integration of the Polo Cup class, the 24h Nürburgring Series will gain an attractive entry-level class with its own cup standings starting in 2027. Initiated by Thorsten Willems, the Cup stands for affordable touring car racing with a level playing field and is aimed in particular at young drivers and ambitious amateur racers looking to break into endurance racing on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The series features the approximately 300 PS VW Polo GTI Cup, which puts driving skill front and center. By being integrated into the 24h Nürburgring Series, participants benefit from professional event infrastructure and can compete under the same conditions as established teams on the 24h circuit, which combines the Grand Prix Course and the Nordschleife.
Planned 2027 Event Calendar
In its inaugural 2027 season, the ADAC 24h Nürburgring Series will feature five events comprising a total of six races:
- 24h Nürburgring Prolog: 2–3 April 2027* (4-hour race, Sat.)
- 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers: 30 April – 2 May 2027 (2 x 4-hour race, Sat.+Sun.)
- ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring: 27–30 May 2027 (24h race, Sat./Sun.)
- ADAC Eifelrennen: 30 July – 1 August 2027* (4-hour race, Sat.)
- ADAC 1000 km Rennen: 10–12 September 2027* (6-hour race, Sat.)
