In 2026, Danish driver Nicki Thiim will make his 17th start at the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring in the Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 EVO #34. With that, he draws level with his father Kurt Thiim, who competed in the race 17 times between 1987 and 2014. Kurt’s standout achievements at the Nürburgring 24h include three class victories. Nicki made his debut in 2007 in a Seat Leon and has since claimed five class wins. His greatest success came in 2013, when he secured overall victory in a Mercedes-Benz SLS GT3.
“I hadn’t even realised that myself. It’s great that people still remember the old heroes. Looking back, of course, I would have liked to have won more from those 17 appearances. But it is already a real honour for me to represent the second generation of the Thiim family racing here. I’m incredibly proud of my father and everything he achieved. I’m also grateful to be here for the 17th time, and I hope there are still a few more starts ahead of me. It has been an amazing journey so far, beginning in the Seat Leon Supercopa and then taking me through different brands and classes – from Nissan and VW Motorsport to Aston Martin today,” says Nicki.
